Kerry Fibromyalgia Launch
Living Day to Day with Fibromyalgia - A Practical Guide

Dr. Muriel Soden, Rheumatologist, on behalf of Kerry Fibromyalgia, officially launched a new publication Living Day to Day with Fibromyalgia at a widely represented gathering at Ballyseedy Home and Outdoor Living on Wednesday 16th December 2009.

Living with the symptoms of Fibromyalgia on a daily basis (widespread muscle pain and fatigue) can be an isolating and debilitating experience. The book sets out advice and practical help on how best to achieve the best quality of life by managing the condition.

The publication is the result of years of endeavour by the Kerry Fibromyalgia Committee under the chairmanship of the founder, Josephine Fearns and with the invaluable assistance of Dr. Muriel Soden, Dr Declan O’Keeffe, Clincial Director of St. Vincent’s Pain Management Clinic, Dublin and Niamh O’Sullivan, Physical Therapist, Tralee. This readily accessible self-help guide will prove invaluable to sufferers of this condition and their families.

The Kerry Fibromyalgia Group was set up over ten years ago and provides support to those living with the condition. Committee members are always available to help and advise in a practical way all those who are confronted by the effects of the condition. They provide a helpline (086/1607355), and have an extensive library of publications on the condition and its management – a library that is now further enhanced by the publication of ‘Living Day to Day with Fibromyalgia’.

Members of the Fibromyalgia Committee are also available to advise on how best to adapt living conditions in the home and at work in order to help deal with the limitations associated with this condition.

Kerry Fibromyalgia Support also gratefully acknowledge the financial assistance of the HSE Citizens Information and all who have supported their fundraising activities. Without this support this publication would not have been possible.

The group meets on a monthly basis at St. Brendan’s Pastoral Centre, Tralee on the first Tuesday of every month – All are welcome.
